Fishing was primarily the passion of males … but that was then and this is now. Fishing is becoming more popular with women
More and more women are learning the sport of fishing each and every day. And, why not? It only requires patience and stamina. Most women were not brought up learning to fish. It's a "Father -Son" tradition and thank God my daddy didn't believe that. With two brothers and a sister I was the lucky chosen "fishin' buddy". Those memories on the water fishing with my dad will always be with me.
While fishing with many more women each year i have come to the conclusion that it's the enthusiasm and competition for the sport that brings them to my boat. Who better to compete against than your husband? It's always the same thing every time. "My fish is BIGGER than your fish" and now that fish becomes a "Social Media Fish" that with a click of your IPhone all your friends know "her fish is BIGGER". But on a serious note I feel that most women enjoy fishing with their husbands and family for the same reason "I do" their love for the sport and making memories with their loved ones. To all Men - I challenge you to bring your wife / girlfriend / daughter fishing with you next time.
